It is our pleasure to announce that the 2nd annual meeting of the international society of precision cancer medicine (ISPCM) will be held in Busan, Korea, in 15-19th of March, 2018.
The first International Conference for Precision Cancer Medicine (ICPCM), which was held in 29th-30th June, 2017 in Tokyo, Japan, is actually the ancestor meeting of the ISPCM. Our old friend, Johji Inazawa, a professor of Medical Research Institute, Tokyo Medical and Dental University, organized and lead the first ICPCM to a great success. Following the first ICPCM, we decided to launch ISPCM with this wonderful group of cancer researchers in order to meet the urgent needs of the times of individualized cancer prevention and therapy.
No one can deny the fact that we are poised to enter a new era of precision cancer medicine not only in the field of treatment but also diagnosis and prevention. This is absolutely a paradigm shift for cancer research as well as practice. Based on the accumulated knowledge so far, ISPCM will contribute to build a comprehensive knowledge network for biomedical research by incorporating genetic, biochemical, immunologic, and environmental data. This network we will finally make is of definite help to define molecular subtypes of one's cancer and a new taxonomy of cancer which can lead us to effective approaches for cancer cure.
Busan is the second largest city of Korea, located on the southeastern tip of the Korean peninsula. The city's natural endowments and rich history have resulted in Busan's increasing reputation as a world class city for tourism and culture, and it is also becoming renowned as a hot spot destination for international conventions.
We look forward to welcoming you at the 2nd annual meeting of the ISPCM in Busan in 2018.
